  25. I'm having similar problems.. that 'burst of data' and then nothing for a 
  26. couple seconds.  If the transfer completed, I usually get around 
  27. 2.0kb/sec.  When this doesn't happen (sometimes it does, sometimes it 
  28. doesn't..) I can get around 3.5kb/sec on a zip file (as reported by 
  29. FTP).  I also get random disconnects.  Doing an ati6 reports something like
  30. 44 NAK's and a few 'BLERS' (what is a BLER?).  I think NAK is not 
  31. acknoledged or something.. <shurg>.  I'm using generic at&f1 init strings.
  32. Pentium 90Mhz/Linux 1.3.57+pppd-2.2.0e.  Any suggestions?
